Even though the flu season has been moderate this year, the Stanislaus
County Health Services Agency (HSA) is still encouraging people to get
flu vaccinated this year.
County-wide, the level of flu alert has remained low, according to HSA
public information officer David Jones. However, because a flu wave targets
a specific area and can come at any time, one can never be too immune
from the cold and flu season.
“It’s still a good time to get flu vaccinated,” said
Jones.
HSA is offering $10 flu vaccines from their Public Health Department
office at 820 Scenic Drive in Modesto from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday
through Thursday. The vaccines will be administered by registered nurses
until HSA’s supply runs out.
The vaccine is most recommended for those age 55 and over or those in
fragile health. All adults and children age four and over who are in frail
health are recommended for the vaccine.
HSA made a stop to the Turlock area during their mobile clinic campaign
in September and October.
The clinic will be closed Monday, Dec. 31 and Tuesday Jan. 1 in observance
of the New Year holiday.
For more information, the public can visit
the HSA’s Website at www.hsahealth.org.
