Stanislaus County is beating its neighbors in a race no one really wants
to win.
Stanislaus is far surpassing the two counties that border it to the north
and south — San Joaquin and Merced — in the number of people
infected with West Nile virus.
Stanislaus has recorded 30 cases of the virus this year. Merced County
has two cases and San Joaquin County has four, according to state wide
numbers released Friday.
